The intelligent imaging programme for the EPX-4400

Digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) & Image Gateway — DIG for short — is the new software programme for the digital transmission and processing of images for endoscopic findings. As an optional programme in the EPX-4400 video processor, DIG combines the facilities of a database and DICOM server and directs the images via autorouting directly to documentation, administration, and picture archiving and communication (PAC) systems. With DIG, endoscopy is becoming fully IT-compatible.

Versatile and economic.

DIG downloads the diagnostic images directly from the EPX-4400 processor via the digital network connection. To save the costs for a viewer, printing software, image grabber, and video cable, they can be printed out directly from the web browser. The images are automatically forwarded to the documentation and PAC systems, where they are permanently stored and are retrievable at any time. Links to the available patient data makes them clearly identifiable.

Limitless flexibility and mobility.

The images from all the connected examination rooms are managed centrally. This means that one or more endoscopy units can be administered simultaneously. The integrated web server makes it possible for the images to be viewed in different locations, and the WLAN network connection allows mobile image reception — on the laptop, for example. Cable connections between the endoscopy unit and the network thus become unnecessary — making cleaning of the rooms substantially easier.
